Here at FaroMia, we don't love the word 'diet' -- and prefer to talk about this as more of an approach to eating in a particular way. That said, the Mediterranean Diet is an approach to eating real food -- rich in protein, good oils and fats, and in a way that leaves room for life's little indulgences like a glass of red wine, or even the occasional dessert- all anchored by daily exercise and activity.
The core foods in a Mediterranean way of eating are whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes, herbs, spices, nuts and healthy fats like olive oils. Then balanced portions of fish and seafood, about twice weekly, followed by occasional servings of dairy, eggs, and poultry. Finally, while permitted, moderate and infrequent servings of red meat and sweets. We love this graphic from America's Test Kitchen that depicts this lifestyle.
FaroMia dips are made from almonds- protein-rich, vitamin-packed nuts and then combined with healthy oils like olive oil and coconut oil, avocado oil, herbs and spices. Even our sweet dips use this same approach and avoid unrefined sugars- using 100% cacao, and no artificial flavorings.
